Hump Day Helper

Let's face it we all have days where we just feel down. things at work all go in the wrong direction at the same time. The last thing you want to do when you get home is go work out. Actually a good work out can help chase away the stress of the day.

By exercising you will increase your heart rate, speed up your metabolic rate, and release endorphins in your which in turn will make you feel better. If you really are set against exercising after a long day, then take the dog for a walk or go play with the kids. Do something, don't just come home and sit down. One of the best features is that you don't have to leave home. The savings in money, time, and travel really add up over a period of time. You don't have to wait in line to use the machine and there is no more concern about unsanitary equipment.

The total gym also folds for easy storage, so there is nothing to trip over when not in use. I highly recommend that if you are in the market for an exercise system that you check out the total gym and its many benefits.

Peace of mind

Do we ever really consider the amount of stress and pressure that we put ourselves under everyday? In these tough times it is very easy to get bogged down with thoughts and issues that we feel are important and need to be addressed. But in reality these thoughts just add to our demise.

Taking just a few moments everyday to clear our minds of unimportant thoughts can help us to maintain a healthy mental state. When our minds are in a clear productive state it helps us to feel better about ourselves. Much like exercising regularly, clearing our thought life can help reduce stress and pressure which can be very detrimental to our overall well being.

I have posted this picture as an example of something you could use to help clear your mind. I like to look at this picture and take in the natural beauty to help me clear my mind. Sometimes I don't have time to get a workout in, but I can take in the view of a beautiful scene of nature, clear my mind and put myself in a better more productive relaxed state.

Staying fit is not always an easy or enjoyable task. It will take dedication on your part to see the process through. I hope I have been able to provide you with some ideas on how to keep up with the task of creating the new healthier you. Just remember sometimes a simple act on your part, such as looking at a picture or even going for a short walk, can greatly improve your day. That my friends is the main purpose of this site. With obesity increasing alarmingly in this country I feel it is important to offer a site where people can share ideas with one another to help combat this problem.

I have always been into physical fitness and enjoy working out. Over the last couple of years I have taken up running competitively to expand my fitness regime. Currently I am in training to compete in my first triathlon.

I do not have all the answers, but I feel that I can contribute much in the way of motivation and direction to help people get started with an exercise program. Once they have started on their path to exercise, this site can be a tool to help them maintain their regiment.

I really hope to help people understand that by staying physically fit they can better enjoy life. Some of the benefits that arise from an active lifestyle are better mental and physical health, which in turn means less trips to the doctor. People will also start to notice that they have more energy and they will have a different outlook on life.
